Context
Excelsior Rocks is a free one-day rock festival in Jette, in the north of Brussels, held on 22 August 2026. Born from the Excelsior café's live-music scene, it brings seven bands from Belgium, the UK, the US, Spain and Germany to a free, open stage, from garage and punk to mod and new wave.
A free festival lives or dies on how many people show up. Excelsior Rocks needed a website that could spread the word, present a genuinely exciting line-up, and reach a multilingual Brussels audience before the date.
The challenge
An event website is unlike a company website: it has one date and one job, filling the square on 22 August. Everything had to point to that. The site needed to convey the festival's raw rock energy in seconds, make a seven-band line-up genuinely browsable (who is playing, when, and what they sound like), and do it in the three languages of its Brussels audience: French, English and Dutch. And because it is a local, free event, it had to be easy to find for anyone searching for something to do in Brussels that weekend.
Objectives
- Drive attendance: a single, energetic page built to turn curiosity into a save-the-date.
- Sell the line-up: present the seven bands with their set times and their music, not just names.
- Reach everyone in Brussels: a fully trilingual site (FR, EN, NL).
- Be found locally: a clean SEO foundation for "free festival in Brussels" style searches.
Our approach, step by step
1. A one-pager with real festival energy
We built a bold single-page site around the festival's poster identity: big type, the date front and centre, the free-entry message repeated like a chant, and the essentials (date, time, place) visible immediately. The whole page is designed to feel like the event.

2. A line-up that makes you want to come
Rather than a plain list, each of the seven bands gets a card with its set time, origin, a short bio and direct YouTube and Spotify links, so a visitor can listen before deciding. It turns the programme into the main reason to attend.

3. Fully trilingual (FR, EN, NL)
The site is available in French, English and Dutch to match the mixed Brussels audience, with clean language switching so every visitor reads the festival in their own language.
4. Everything you need to actually get there
A practical-info section covers the location with an embedded map, opening times, food trucks, a kids village, free parking and public-transport routes, plus the after-party at the Excelsior café, removing every reason not to come.

5. A clean local SEO foundation
We gave the site descriptive titles and meta descriptions built around "free rock festival in Brussels", Open Graph tags for strong social sharing (crucial for an event spread on Facebook and Instagram), and clear, crawlable content so search engines surface it to people looking for things to do in Brussels in August.
Results
Excelsior Rocks has a website that does justice to the event:
- a bold, single-page site that captures the festival's rock energy;
- a rich, seven-band line-up with set times and streaming links;
- a fully trilingual experience (FR, EN, NL) for a Brussels audience;
- all practical information in one place, with a clean SEO and social-sharing foundation.
The result is a shareable, easy-to-find home for a free festival, built to turn online attention into a full square on the day.
